Georgia is one of the country's newest wine regions, and Tiger Mountain Vineyards is tucked into the hills of Northern Georgia. Vines are hand tended and wines are made with care and precision. Plus, their tasting room parties feature artisan cheeses and breads.
Luckily, Tiger's tasting room still carried my personal favorite wines from their vineyards, the Petit Manseng and Tannat, which were both bronze medal winners of this year's San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. The flavors of the wines and the hospitality of the staff quickly reminded me why I enjoy the tasting room so much. One or two wines could use a little work, but the combination of the overall quality, the mellow ambiance of the tasting room and the personable service make me want to return every weekend.
