Farm History
The farm grew out of owners Cindy and David Krepky's desire to make a connection to their food and to the community by growing fruits and vegetables on their own lots. As their business grew, they decided to expand to a large piece of farmland.
Currently they have over 250 varieties of produce available for purchase (via their CSA program, farmers markets, or at the farm itself), in addition to chicken and duck eggs, and fresh or frozen poultry. They raise everything without chemical fertilizers or pesticides, using manure generated by the farm animals to build rich soil for veggies and fruit.
Culinary Inspiration

Guest chefs combine produce from the farm with meats and cheeses from other local producers to create a multi-course feast for a delicious and unique dining experience. Recently, local wineries have been added to provide wines that complement the food.
Supporting the Community
On top of all the sustainable goodness that Dog Mountain Farm offers, they also run a non-profit organization: The School of the Lost Arts. The school's goal is to get people of all ages back into the garden for hands-on growing with classes and a Young Farmers Day Camp. Since the school operates solely on donations, they always need equipment and supplies. Visit this site to see how you can help!
A Seasonal Favorite
Cindy names fava beans as one of her favorite things produced at the farm for their unique flavor and specialness. She suggests you eat them as soon as possible after picking, and prepare them simply, by shelling the outer pod and par boiling or steaming. Run under cold water to handle, pop beans out of their jackets and serve with a little melted butter. You can also mash them onto crostini or add to soups.
Visit Dog Mountain Farm to take a tour of the grounds, a cooking or gardening class, or even stay overnight in their new outdoor Bed & Breakfast tents. Cindy and David's passion for farming and food is sure to inspire you to get outside and start growing, or create your own culinary masterpieces.
