Grow It - Rogue Valley
Gardening season has been in swing for a few months now in Southern Oregon, but I just got my tomatoes in the ground a few weekends ago. So obviously, they don't look anything like this:
But soon they will. My tomato garden consists of six types: Ace and Medford are two varieties specially bred to grow well in our dry summer, Mediterranean climate. Romas are great for salsa, but I am most excited for my Early Girl ("57 days to maturity" the tag bragged, and I was suckered due to my desperation for a fresh tomato) and my Brandywine. Oh, and the red cherry tomatoes, which are so good on kabobs (and as a snack while I'm weeding).
What tomato varieties have you planted? Any one variety you're really itching to have ripen immediately?
