What could be better than tent after tent overflowing with meats, beers, wines, sunshine and happy people? Not a whole lot, friends, not a whole lot. This past Saturday & Sunday afternoon, Central Point, Oregon was the place to be.
This weekend was the annual Battle of the Bones event which included local barbecue, microbrews, wines and musical talent from all over the Rogue Valley. Proceeds benefited Central Point Parks & Recreation Foundation.

For just $15, you could sample from local fine establishments and tease your taste buds with a wide selection of savory meats and cool beverages. Although each place was representing itself and competing for the Battle of the Bones title, a good time was had by all. (And the real winners were us -- the people who sampled our regions yummiest offerings!) With punch cards in hand, many happy eaters enjoyed themselves while surrounded by music and friends under sunny, summery skies.
Even though it's gone for this year, the restaurants that turned out for the competition aren't. Check the Bones site for a list of places for great BBQ in Southern Oregon, and be sure to catch the competition next year.
