Nestled among the rolling hills between Lake Oswego and West Linn is Oswego Hills Vineyard and Winery, a charming family-run operation offering small-lot boutique wines. Owners Jerry and Leslie Marshall purchased the property in 1996 and have been renovating it ever since. Many original outbuildings, now properly restored and modernized, still retain their nostalgic look and feel. In fact, the beautiful winery was recently featured in the July/August 2011 edition of Victoria Magazine’s Best of Portland. 

This family’s wine venture truly is a labor of love. Son-in-law and winemaker Derek Lawrence says that Oswego Hills strives to be a local winery with something for everyone. While the vineyard is planted with Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Marechal Foch (pronounced "mar-esh-shall-fosh") vines, they also produce a spectrum of other wines – 15 in all. From Viognier to Zinfandel to Tempranillo Port, you’re sure to find a wine to suit your palate.

Oswego Hills also offers occasional Wine Dinners. While not a restaurant, they employ a chef who creates meals for the sole purpose of pairing with their hand-crafted wines. The menu at a recent Sunday wine tasting included (among other tasty options) Santa Maria-Style Tri-Tip with Heirloom Lima Bean and Roasted Corn Succotash, Grilled Summer Squash, Caesar Salad with Homemade Dressing and Croutons, and Key Lime Tart for dessert...all for $20.
