| The national trend of quality food from street carts is taking root in Eugene. Erstwhile lampooned (and probably rightfully so) as roach coaches, food carts are getting trendier and as diverse in appearance as in their unique fare offerings. These are not the shining silver trucks that used to arrive at lunchtime, with their saran-wrapped, hardened sandwiches and day-old muffins. What happened to the plan to have seven food carts at the intersection of Willamette and Broadway? I have been by there at lunch several times, and there are usually only one or two carts there. I know there was some issue with the seating/tables, but that did not sound like it was serious enough to crush the whole idea.
