Anywhere Austin

Since my husband is a fulltime Chef and the kids and & are stuck home we picnic all the time at home. It can be in their room, or out underneath the trees we make it work. The best part about being in Austin is we have trees everywhere, so even if we go in the yard we still feel like its an adventure. - Amanda Joyner

Touvelle State Park

My favorite picnic spot is Touvelle State Park. There are lots of shade trees and picnic tables. But I love to just spread out a blanket on the ground and take a couple of lawn chairs too. I relax and read a book while my husband plays his acoustic guitar. I love to sit and watch the river too. - Sandra Gerritz

My all time fave picnic spot was at Frost Amphitheater on the Stanford University campus on a Sunday afternoon with a copy of the SF Chronicle, a basket full of nosh, good drink, sunny skies...top it off with jazz music and I was in heaven! - Betsy

Omaha's Best Picnic Location

I love, love, love to picnic at Memorial Park in Omaha, NE. I take a blanket, some good fresh food, a book, maybe some tunes, my hammock and my partner and friends and chill all afternoon. There's plenty of shade, but also a huge open space to run, fly kites and kick the soccer ball. You've got to check it out if you're in town! - Brittany Hanson

I love having a good picnic up near the Britt Gardens in Jacksonville. I guess I enjoy it most because it's where I grew up and I have great memories of enjoying Jacksonville in the summer...including a wonderful picnic and hike/bike trip. - Todd McDonald

Favorite picnic spot...

My favorite picnic spot is near the children's sandbox in North Mountain Park in Ashland, Oregon. At any given time there are flocks of a variety of birds around and you can hear them singing. Flower gardens bloom nearby. It is such a peaceful place, just perfect for a picnic with family which is why it tops my list of favorite picnic places. - Vanessa Houk
