| Wild River Brewing & Pizza Co. started in Cave Junction, but has since spread to Brookings, Grants Pass, and Medford. Their relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, wide range of great and affordable pizza, and incredibly drinkable, award-winning beers always make any of their locations a great place to stop and relax.
They brew a line of seven different beers year-round, including a few lighter beers for those not yet ready to plunge head-first into a pint of their imposingly dark Double Eagle Imperial Stout. However, it is their mid-range beers that truly shine. Their Nut Brown Ale is a great English mild that makes a chuggable session beer, and their Extra Special Bitter (ESB) leaves you yearning for a good fish-and-chips-topped pizza or their Oktoberfest, which is topped with smoked sausage and sauerkraut. Their brewer, Scott Butts, comes up with a few special release beers throughout the year, including some really incredible winter seasonals and an imperial IPA in the spring. This is a great incentive to keep returning and checking out their line of taps. Wild River's pizza ranges from $5 to $7 for a personal-size, on up to $26 for a large specialty. They also offer wood-fired European-style pizzas for around $12. Their menu comes complete with plenty of beer-and-pizza pairing suggestions, and for those patrons who are unfortunately too young to enjoy a good pint, they have a house-made root beer as well. |
